Pasadena police officers will wear pink patches starting Wednesday, Oct. 7, as the department kicks off its 2026 Pink Patch Project in Old Pasadena.
The launch doubles as a Coffee with a Cop event at Rusnak Auto Group's INEOS dealership, 337 W. Colorado Blvd., beginning at 10:30 a.m., first reported by Pasadena Now. All proceeds go to Huntington Health Cancer Center, which uses the funds for breast cancer screening, treatment and care for patients who cannot afford it, according to the department.
Last year's campaign raised $40,000 for the cancer center, a total the City Manager's Office called a record. When the department presented that donation, Police Chief Gene Harris said it "…reflects our commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our community."
The guest list for Wednesday's kickoff includes Harris, Mayor Victor Gordo, Rusnak Auto Group chairman and CEO Paul Rusnak, California Highway Patrol (CHP) Commissioner Sean Duryee, city councilmembers and breast cancer survivors.
Attendees can buy a pink latte served in a commemorative 2026 campaign mug. The department is branding this year's effort "Pink Stands Strong."
