Nine ice cream vendors representing Thai, Mexican, Hawaiian, Persian, and other LA-area traditions will set up shop at Kidspace Children's Museum on Sunday, July 19, the same day the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final is played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The event, called Scooper Bowl Sunday, runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum's Brookside Park campus at 480 N. Arroyo Blvd. It marks International Ice Cream Day. Free samples will be available while supplies last, with additional scoops for purchase from participating vendors.
The Rose Bowl, visible from Kidspace's 3.5-acre outdoor grounds, hosted the 1994 World Cup Final — the last time the United States staged the tournament. Kidspace CEO Lisa Clements said in the museum's press release that the event is meant to give families a low-key way to celebrate the day's international spirit, try something new, and share the experience together.
The lineup
The confirmed vendor roster spans the breadth of LA's frozen-dessert scene:
- Kanomwaan (Thai-inspired)
- Perla's
- La Michoacanna (Mexican paletas and ice cream)
- Ululani's (Hawaiian shave ice and ice cream)
- Mashti Malone's (Persian flavors)
- Bloomfield Creamery
- Sure Good
- Koolfi Company (South Asian kulfi)
- Sub-Zero (made-to-order with liquid nitrogen)
What it costs
Scooper Bowl Sunday is included with regular museum admission. Kidspace members get in free. No separate ticket is required for the tasting.
World Cup watch note
Pasadena won't host any 2026 World Cup matches — the LA-area venue is SoFi Stadium in Inglewood — but the Rose Bowl's 1994 legacy gives the neighborhood a deep connection to the tournament. That final, played on the same Arroyo Seco turf families walk past on the way to Kidspace, put Pasadena at the center of the soccer world 32 years ago.
The World Cup Final kicks off at noon Pacific time on Sunday, July 19. Scooper Bowl Sunday will already be three hours into service by then.
