Experience and public service

Calderon has served on the WRD board representing Division 4 since 2007, according to BallotReady.

On his campaign website, Calderon said he has served as mayor, councilmember, city clerk and director over the course of his public service career. He also said he worked as a teacher and teacher adviser at the LAUSD Division of Adult and Career Education starting in 2004, and as proprietor and operator of CPR Angeles.

Calderon served on the Maywood City Council. He resigned from that seat as part of a settlement with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, according to a district attorney press release dated Jan. 3, 2018.
