Westridge is headed to the CIF Southern Section Division 5 quarterfinals after beating Windward 33-18 in the second round Saturday, Oct. 24.

The Tigers will travel to Nogales for a 5 p.m. quarterfinal Tuesday, Oct. 27, according to the Pasadena Star News. Nogales edged Rancho Verde 7-6 in its own second-round game to earn the home matchup.

Pasadena Poly's season is over. The Panthers fell 43-20 to Village Christian, a Prep League rival that shared the league title with Poly during the regular season. Both teams finished 6-2 in Prep League play, according to Sports Illustrated's playoff bracket page. The split meant the two co-champions met in the second round, and Village Christian came away with the lopsided win.

Poly had already beaten Village Christian once during the regular season, 39-34, but lost the other meeting 21-34, according to the school's schedule page.

The loss ends a historic first year for the Panthers. Poly launched girls flag football as a varsity sport this fall after students led the push to create the program, according to the school's athletics site. The Panthers earned a playoff berth in their inaugural season and won their first-ever postseason game Oct. 20, beating Montebello 25-14 on the road.

Westridge, which finished third in the Prep League at 5-3, has now won two straight playoff games. The Tigers opened with a 13-0 shutout of Orange on Oct. 20 before handling Windward on Saturday. Coach Dan Calmeyer's squad recorded five sacks and three interceptions in that first-round shutout, according to Outlook Newspapers.

Nogales went 6-4 in Montview League play and 15-10 overall during the regular season. Nogales advanced through the bracket with a 14-13 first-round win over San Gorgonio and the 7-6 second-round victory over Rancho Verde.

Westridge visits Nogales on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m., with a semifinal berth at stake.
