Free flu shots are available across Pasadena starting Thursday, Sept. 24, as the city's Public Health Department begins an eight-clinic vaccination series at libraries and community centers.
The first clinic runs from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lamanda Park Branch Library, 140 S. Altadena Drive, according to Pasadena Now, which cited the department's fall clinic flyer. No appointment is needed. The vaccines are free to anyone 6 months of age or older.
Seven more Thursday clinics follow at locations across the city through Nov. 19:
- Oct. 1 — Pasadena Senior Center, 85 E. Holly St., 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (the only morning session)
- Oct. 8 — Villa Parke Community Center, 363 E. Villa St., Room 131A, 1:30–4 p.m.
- Oct. 15 — Linda Vista Branch Library, 1281 Bryant St., 1:30–4 p.m.
- Oct. 22 — La Pintoresca Branch Library, 1355 N. Raymond Ave., 1:30–4 p.m.
- Oct. 29 — Santa Catalina Branch Library, 999 E. Washington Blvd., 1:30–4 p.m.
- Nov. 5 — Allendale Branch Library, 1130 S. Marengo Ave., 1:30–4 p.m.
- Nov. 19 — Hill Avenue Branch Library, 55 S. Hill Ave., 1:30–4 p.m.
Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Masks are recommended at all clinic sites.
Residents who cannot make a Thursday clinic can also walk in for a free flu vaccine at the department's immunization clinic at 1845 N. Fair Oaks Ave., Room 2130. That office is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Dr. Parveen Kaur, the department's health officer, urged residents in a Sept. 2 city press release on COVID-19 vaccines to stay current on fall vaccinations, saying that getting vaccinated "is one of the best ways to protect yourself from severe illness."
