Pet owners have until 11 p.m. PDT Tuesday, June 30, to cast votes in Pasadena Humane's 2027 Calendar Photo Contest, the shelter's annual fundraiser that pits local dogs, cats, and "other pets" against each other for calendar glory.

For the first time, the top two overall vote-getters will land the front and back covers of the 2027 calendar. Any entry that collects at least five votes is guaranteed a spot on the calendar's collage pages.

The contest, which opened June 1, has drawn hundreds of entries across three categories, according to Pasadena Humane.

"Every photo submission celebrates the incredible bond people share with their pets, all while benefiting the thousands of animals that rely on us for care, safety and compassion," said Chris Ramon, Pasadena Humane's president and CEO.

Votes cost $1 each, with a $5 minimum donation. Photo entries are $15. All proceeds support the shelter, which helped more than 71,000 animals in 2025 through adoptions, wildlife rehabilitation, veterinary services, and other programs. Residents can vote or preorder a calendar at pasadenahumane.org/27calendar.

Category winners receive prizes including a month spread in the calendar, a 20-minute photo session donated by Wren Louis Photography, and a personalized kennel sponsorship. The overall top vote-getter earns a framed custom illustration and an invitation to Pasadena Humane's 2027 Celebration of Heroes.
